Je sais pas pour vous mais moi je m'accroche très fort à mon désir du printemps ces temps-ci...

Ça pourrait être bien d'avoir un thème printanier. Ou sinon, peut être illustrer votre mois préféré? Je bosse sur un calandier à long terme, donc j'ai un peu exploré ce genre de sujet-dans ma tête en tout cas, et jtrouve que ce serait intéressant de voir la twist différente de chacun? non??

dites-moi ce que vous en pensez...et entre temps j'poste un petit quelque chose de coquin. :)

Une image que j'ai fait pour la promo d'un salon de coiffure. Il y aura un dimanche en mai, où tous les profits iront pour la recherche contre le cancer. C'était bien sympatique de travailler pour une amie, et pour une bonne cause. Je metterai les détails sur mon blog pour les intéressés (montrealais...) en temps et lieu.

I dont know about you but im really hoping for real spring soon. i thought it would be nice to have a little spring-inspired theme....or, i was also exploring different months, for a calendar project, and thought it would be really interesting to see different people's interpretations of months. no?

so we could either all go for may, or april...

or just our favorite month of the year? let me know what you think.

Hop, me voici donc avec la prochaine thématique!

On a été plusieurs à s'entendre là-dessus, et on a décidé que le prochain thème serait d'illustrer une recette en bande dessinée. C'est le temps de ressortir vos recettes de grand-mère, les enfants!

Vous pouvez aussi jeter un coup d'oeil au livre qui a inspiré cette idée: L'appareil, aux éditions La Pastèque. (Malheureusement, y a pas de preview sur le site... faudra fouiner en librairie.)

Le libellé pour ce thème sera recipe. Technique libre, tant que ça se lit comme une bédé. La date limite devrait être aux environs du 15 janvier, mais on pourra toujours étirer au pire. Bonne bouffe!

We were a couple to agree on this, and we decided the next theme should be illustrating a recipe in comic format. It's time to get these granny recipes out, kids!

You can also check out the book that inspired the idea: L'appareil, from La Pastèque editions. (Unfortunately, there's no preview on the site... we're gonna have to search in bookstores.)

The label for the project is recipe. Free technique, as long as it's sequential art. Deadline for it should be around January 15, but we can always push it back. Bon appétit!

Mon premier pinup officiel à vie! ...et j'ai pas vraiment réussi à faire le fini vieille peinture de pinup comme je voulais. Donc, j'ai expérienmenté sur photoshop! Je met deux versions. J'espère que ça dérange personne de voir deux fois le même dessin.

OK, first of all, let me say, i"m really happy that so many people are stoked about this blog. And to see people's banner pop up on the blog post, its actually so exiting and pretty much delightful. :)

I'm thinking we should have another theme soon. just cause.
Second, I think that the stuff we draw, the ideas, the themes, the challenges, what you wanna call it, should be "first come, first serve". If you have an idea, post it! then people will comment and we can see who feels like drawing that.

Okidoki, but just to break the ice, and also since emmanuelle had the banner idea, then im gonna poop something now, and see if it pleases you.

Concernant les libellés / Concerning labels

Tant qu'à établir une sorte de simili-discipline ici, j'aimerais suggérer l'utilisation des libellés (ie. keywords) comme suit.

Pour regrouper les projets ensemble et faciliter les recherches (pour trouver tous les billets qui contiennent une bannière, par exemple), veuillez seulement mettre le libellé du projet en question dans votre billet. Pour la bannière, le libellé est banner. Ainsi, dans la colonne de droite du blogue, quand on clique sur banner, on aura accès à toutes les bannières d'une shot!

Quand on parlera du prochain projet, on trouvera un nouveau libellé que tout le monde pourra utiliser.

Ah et, veuillez aussi mettre un titre à vos billets, ou sinon un peu de texte avec votre dessin, parce que si vous n'en mettez pas du tout, votre billet n'apparaîtra pas dans les archives de droite... je viens de voir ça avec le billet de Joel.

C'est tout pour aujourd'hui. Continuez de même là, vous rockez!

Might as well be establishing some sort of pseudo-discipline here, so I'd like to suggest the use of labels like this.

To group all projects together and make searching easier (to find all posts with banners in them, for example), please use only the label corresponding to the project you're posting about. For the banner, the label is (duh) banner. That way, in the blog's column on the right, when you click on banner, you'll access all and only the banners in one shot!

We'll decide of a new label when we'll come up with the next project.

Oh and, please put titles to your posts, or at least write a bit of text in them, because if you don't write anything at all and only post a picture, your post won't appear in the archives... I just saw that with Joel's post.

So I went looking into the blog's HTML, and I got to the conclusion that the said banners we should be making should be slightly bigger than what Paule suggested intially... it'd make coding easier... anyway.

And it'd also be great if they all said the same thing, right?

So I'm jumping on this occasion to tell you guys about it before you're too far ahead in your banner-making:

+ DIMENSIONS FOR THE BANNER SHOULD BE 700 x 170 PIXELS (better make it even numbers)
+ TEXT ON IT CAN BE IN ANY FONT YOU FANCY, BUT IT SHOULD SAY: "Le Drawing Happening" AND "Art collective made out of dorky people" (just because it's funny)

There you go. I hope Paule won't mind me giving instructions here!

Bonsoir à tous,

alors on a discuté dans les comments du premier billet, et on est pas mal toutes titillées par l'idée de tous designé une bannière pour l'entête du Blog, comme premier "défit". Ensuite on peut "setter" une option pour que la bannière alterne à chaque re-load de la page...cool, hein? Je suis totalement d'accord avec l'idée d'Emmanuelle. Super-Duper.

Tergiversations par rapport à avoir tous la même palette de couleurs, type de police, ect. Personnellement je crois que se serait aussi cool d'avoir un look mix and match très différents les un des autres, autant que quelque chose d'uniforme. Je dis, faisons les, et si elles sont vraiment trop hétéroclites, on pourra uniformiser les "font" (polices/graphisme) plus tard anyways.

Pour ce qui est de la palette de couleurs, si j'ai à choisir quelque couleurs, j'irais avec un classique, couleurs primaires...alors, rouge, bleu, jaune, plus noir et blanc? Mais encore, si vous avez l'idée du siècle et ne voulez pas respecter ces choix, go for it.

pour ce qui est des dimensions, le header de Joel est 645x167 pixels. Et je trouve ça bien comme grosseur. Si je me gourre, faites-moi signe.

Alors?? Est-ce que ça semble raisonnable de se donner jusqu'à la fin du mois pour tout le monde? Le blog pourrait être joli et pret pour le temps des fêtes...

ok, so its been sort of discussed, in the comments of the first entry, that it would be cool to each submit a banner, a "header" for the collective blog. Then we set it so that the banner changes at each re-load of the page... I totally agree to this, it is way cool. Thanks Emmanuelle for the splendid idea.

Its also been discussed about chosing a common colour palette, common type, i dont personnaly think it would look that bad if the banner were all very different, very mix and match with each other's personnality. so i say, why dont we come up with something natural, and we see if it doesnt fit then? if it looks weird it wont be too late to chose a common font and uniform it afterwards.

as for colour schemes, i dont mind both ways, i think if people have genius ideas of colours then go for it. otherwise if i'm asked to pic a colour palette..to go on the white back ground...id say...lets kick it old school with primary colours, so, red, blue, yellow, and black/white.

As for dimensions, looking at Joel's header, we'd aim at 645x167 pixels. If that seems wrong tell me.

Sounds good??? Can we try and make those before the end of the month? the blog could look pimp in time for christmas month...
